Principal's Message



On behalf of the staff at the newly established UCDSB Secondary Virtual Program, we would like to welcome you as our first cohort of learners!  We applaud and respect the risk you took by selecting this innovative learning model when faced with the numerous options and challenges that impacted learning this year.

By definition, asynchronous means that learning by students is done out-of-sync with their teacher and classmates. Though this creates opportunities for personalization and flexibility, it also challenges our traditional views of schooling.  In the UCDSB Secondary Virtual Program, we value communication and collaboration, and even though our learners are separated by time and space, we work to keep learners connected and engaged with their studies, regardless of the digital or non-digital format.  We have a dedicated team of Educators, Support Staff, and Administrators, who share the vision and goal for providing students with a meaningful and successful learning experience.  This team is here to support the wellness, development, and academic achievement of all learners. 

We hope that as we continue to build this program and our processes, we can partner with students and families to grow and improve so that learning remains at the forefront of our work together.
